SafeCare Quality Platform
The SafeCare Quality Platform is an interactive, real-time quality management and monitoring platform for healthcare providers. It is developed by the SafeCare Foundation and provided by Stichting PharmAccess International; a not-for-profit organization dedicated to connecting more people to better health care in Africa (“PharmAccess”). PharmAccess is established under the laws of the Netherlands and has its registered office address at Paasheuvelweg 25, 1105 BP Amsterdam.
All the SafeCare Quality Platform’s content is owned by the SafeCare Foundation and is protected by copyright under Dutch laws. It is not allowed to modify, publish, transmit or in any way exploit any of the content in whole or in part without the prior written consent of the SafeCare Foundation or PharmAccess.
In order to responsibly manage The SafeCare Quality Platform for all users, its use is subject to terms and conditions. These terms and conditions set forth below ("Terms and Conditions") apply to the use of the services and functionality provided through the SafeCare Quality Platform site and mobile application (the "Services"). By accessing and using the Services, healthcare providers acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Without accepting these Terms and Conditions, they are not authorized to use the SafeCare Quality Platform.
The SafeCare Quality Platform is designed to help healthcare providers improve the quality of the health services they provide. It complements the support received from SafeCare and PharmAccess’ expert team and partner organizations supporting healthcare facilities in their quality improvement course. The SafeCare Quality Platform helps motivate and incentivize healthcare providers to integrate the principles of continuous quality improvement into daily operations. The SafeCare Quality Platform also connects healthcare providers to stakeholders in the healthcare sector to facilitate data-driven decision making such as (but not limited to) contracting for insurance, investments and resource allocation. Specifically, the SafeCare Quality Platform offers healthcare providers:
Only registered healthcare providers, with a valid email and password can use the SafeCare Quality Platform. After the SafeCare assessment, they will receive information on the Quality Improvement Plan, credentials and instructions on how to login to the SafeCare Quality Platform.

Please note that the following non-personal data related to your facility is collected when using the SafeCare Quality Platform:
By completing the indicated quality improvement activities on the SafeCare Quality Platform, it is likely that the overall rating of the healthcare provider will increase with one SafeCare level during the next onsite SafeCare assessment. However, this is not guaranteed as the satisfactory completion of such activities is based on the opinion of the concerning healthcare providers themselves. In addition, for an increase in the SafeCare level, upkeeping of all previously assessed quality aspects is required.
Although PharmAccess (including its officers, employees, subcontractors, agents or partners) will have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure that the information provided on the SafeCare Quality Platform is accurate, healthcare providers agree that their participation is entirely at their own risk and that they assume full responsibility for any loss or damage that may arise from the use of the SafeCare Quality Platform.
Furthermore, healthcare providers specifically agree that PharmAccess will not be liable for any loss or damages arising from any mistreatment, malpractice or wrongful action by their healthcare facility.
PharmAccess reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Such modification will be effective upon posting to the SafeCare Quality Platform and will be announced through a notice on the SafeCare Quality Platform. The latest version of the Terms and Conditions will always be available on the SafeCare Quality Platform.

PRIVACY POLICY for Providers
SafeCare Quality Platform
The SafeCare Quality Platform is an interactive, real-time quality management and monitoring platform for healthcare providers (hereinafter referred to as “User(s)”). It is developed by the SafeCare Foundation and provided by Stichting PharmAccess International; a not-for-profit organization dedicated to connecting more people to better health care in Africa (“PharmAccess”). PharmAccess is established under the laws of the Netherlands and has its registered office address at Paasheuvelweg 25, 1105 BP Amsterdam.
This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) applies to anyone using the services and functionality provided through the SafeCare Quality Platform site and mobile application (the "Services"). PharmAccess is strongly dedicated to protecting the privacy of the Users of the SafeCare Quality Platform and processes personal data in accordance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”) and any applicable local data protection laws. By accessing and using the Services, Users acknowledge that they have read, understood, and consent to the collection of Personal Data for the purposes as set out in this Privacy Policy.
PharmAccess is only allowed to process personal data if there is a lawful ground for processing. Therefore, PharmAccess only processes personal data belonging to Users if one of the following grounds apply:
The SafeCare Quality Platform collects personal data from Users only in a fair, reasonable and lawful manner. The SafeCare Quality Platform is designed to help healthcare providers improve the quality of the health services they provide. It complements the support received from SafeCare and PharmAccess’ expert team and partner organizations supporting healthcare facilities in their quality improvement course.

By using the SafeCare Quality Platform, Users agree that information provided by them or information that PharmAccess collects through their engagement with the SafeCare Quality Platform may be stored and shared with recipients in the following circumstances:
All data collected may also, in anonymized form, be used by PharmAccess for purpose of publications contributing to PharmAccess’ goals and mission. Subject to prior approval from PharmAccess, healthcare providers may use all their data for analysis and publications.
PharmAccess takes the security of the SafeCare Quality Platform Users’ personal data very seriously and has taken adequate technical and organizational measures to protect the collected data from accidental and unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure of, or access to personal data. Access to personal data by PharmAccess employees is limited, password protected and can only be accessed on a need-to-know basis.
PharmAccess does not sell, otherwise disclose, or share data collected from Users, except as described in this Privacy Policy and/or if that is strictly necessary in order to carry out its services towards the Users of the SafeCare Quality Platform. PharmAccess may use the third-party service providers named below to process and store data related to the SafeCare Quality Platform Users:

There are various types of cookies, with different purposes. PharmAccess merely collects essential, functional and analytical cookies on the SafeCare Quality Platform. Essential cookies are used to remember its visitors’ preferences. Functional cookies are cookies that have a functional purpose to enhance performance and functionality of the website. These cookies are anonymous and don not track browsing activity across other websites.
Analytical cookies are cookies that are used to gain insight in the use, traffic and performance of the website and its functions. The SafeCare Quality Platform makes use of Mixpanel Analytics to track statistics. Please note that PharmAccess has adjusted the Mixpanel Analytics settings as recommended by the Dutch Data Protection Authority, where:
The cookies collected via the SafeCare Quality Platform are in no way used to identify visitors. PharmAccess does not make use of any type of tracking, advertising or targeting cookies.
Please note that the SafeCare Quality Platform stores data on PharmAccess’ servers located in the Netherlands, a country with an adequate level of security under GDPR. PharmAccess will put in place adequate measures to ensure the security of such personal data. PharmAccess shall provide Users with the specific information about their data transfer out of the country of which the data was originally collected upon a user’s request.
PharmAccess does not retain personal data any longer than necessary or as prescribed by law. Users signed up to the SafeCare Quality Platform’s email and newsletter list, may unsubscribe from the SafeCare Quality Platform’s communications at any given time by clicking on the “unsubscribe” button in an email or by sending such request by email to quality@pharmaccess.org. After ending our newsletter subscription, your personal data will be deleted from our communication list.
PharmAccess gladly informs Users of their rights regarding personal data:
Users may withdraw their consent to the collection and processing of data as listed above at any time by contacting quality@pharmaccess.org. However, this means that they cannot not use the SafeCare Quality Platform anymore.
PharmAccess reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Such modification will be effective upon posting to the SafeCare Quality Platform and will be announced through a notice on the SafeCare Quality Platform. The latest version of the Privacy Policy will always be available on the SafeCare Quality Platform.
